Stoneybrook Oaks moves forward
DESOTO COUNTY - Two proposed housing developments went before the DeSoto County Commission this week. One got the board´s unanimous approval and moved on to the next regulatory hoop. The other was tabled for further study.
The board approved a developer´s agreement between DeSoto County and U.S. Home Corp. for the Stoneybrook Oaks project. U.S. Home contacted the county and requested water and waste water service for the project which is located in the Lake Suzy area. The developer has agreed to install both water distribution and waste water collection facilities to service 1,249 residential units, which is equivalent to approximately 318,495 gallons of water per day and 268,535 gallons of waste water per day. To service the waste water facility, U. S. Home has agreed to install an eight-inch force main from Charlotte County´s East Port Waste Water Reclamation Facility to the proposed Stoneybrook Oaks project.
The developer has agreed to pay water and waste water capital charges for the project.
